Internal Family Systems |
I completed Internal Family Systems (IFS) level one training in 2019 and level two training in 2022. IFS works from the framework that the mind is made of multiple parts. To survive the adversities of life, some of our parts take on extreme roles. The extreme roles then become our default, and surviving replaces conscious living. As a therapist, I take on the role of a sherpa to help guide you in the process of stepping back to compassionately observe your parts and invite the unburdening of outdated beliefs and behavior patterns. More inner space begets more inner harmony.

EMDR
From 2004-2005, I received training in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). EMDR is an empirically validated treatment protocol for addressing trauma. EMDR enriched my psychotherapy process by providing a structured format for my clients to process trauma, confront anxieties, anchor emotional experiences in their bodies, and gain access to the healing power of emotions.
