Theoretical Approach

My theoretical approach is best described as integrative, meaning I integrate a number
of approaches to psychotherapy, including internal family systems, sensorimotor,
and trauma theory.
I try to help you identify current problem behavior patterns and understand what underlying
function they are playing in your life.  When you are able to confront underlying fears and anxieties,
your sense of choice over old behaviors often becomes much more flexible.

For most people, intellectual insight is easier to obtain than emotional or behavioral healing.
I am committed to helping you achieve all three because therapy tends to be most transformational
when you are able to connect with the adaptive power of your emotions and the wisdom of your body.
This in turn, helps you to be better able to listen to your own needs and engage in mutually
satisfying relationships.
Our life is an apprenticeship to the truth that around every circle
another can be drawn;
that there is no end in nature,
but every end is a beginning
and under every deep a lower deep opens."                                          -        Ralph Waldo Emerson
